Nautical publications

In 2018, the DHOC has published the first nautical publications of the ports and coasts of the Kingdom of Morocco. These two publications are entitled "sailing directions of Moroccan Coasts (Atlantic and Mediterranean)" and "lights and Radio-signals publication". They are intended for all navigators, professional or not, to provide them with all the useful information that does not appear or is broadly mentioned in the nautical charts.

These publications are regularly updated using the group of notices to mariners.

Sailing directions of the Moroccan coasts

The publication titled sailing directions of the Moroccan coasts (Mediterranean and Atlantic) provides a description of elements useful for navigation in maritime areas under the Moroccan jurisdiction. It also deals with aspects related to geography, meteorology, oceanography, as well as national and international regulations related to safety of life at sea. Without being exhaustive, these sailing directions complement nautical charts information. They also contain data provided by national organizations that have maritime activities.

Lights and Radio signals document

The Lights and Radio-signals document is a complement of the nautical charts. It allows mariners to get additional information about lighthouses, navigational marks and radio signals related to the vessel traffic systems along the Moroccan coasts. The document is divided into two parts: the first one, lights and fog signals, offers a description of the characteristics of lights and fog signals and gives details about lighthouses, harbor navigational lights, floating marks and others lights of navigation. The second part contains radio-signal information about vessel traffic systems and pilotage service: reporting systems, procedures of harbor pilotage systems as well as the frequencies used by different users.
